Extra lecture on November 18th
In an addition to the Darwin and Beyond programme’s Institution Lectures series on Wednesday 18 November, Dr Momna Hejmadi of Bath University’s Dept of Biology & Biochemistry will speak on the subject of Cerebral Evolution: the Ascent of Intelligence?

Subject to natural selection, Darwin proposed a common ancestry of the human brain with other animals. Despite sharing common neural functions, mammals alone have evolved a multi-layered cortex. Why did this happen and has this feature made us the humans we are today?
