Bath Poetry Café in 2010

Wednesday September 15th at 7 for 7.30pm

ALL TICKETS £4

TOO LATE FOR THE LOVE HOTEL

An evening of readings by Sue Boyle and friends from the Bath Poetry Cafe to launch Sue's pamphlet 'Too late for the Love Hotel' which was a prizewinner in the Poetry Business Pamphlet Competition 2009  and was published by  Smith/Doorstop In July.

The Cafe will, as usual, showcase the many talents in the Bath Poetry Cafe with readings by some of our best published poets as well as by organisers of poetry groups in other areas whose members regularly visit the Bath Cafe.  Poet and teacher Lesley Saunders, currently Poet in Residence at Acton Court, is one of our special guests and will introduce the evening.

A note for members of the BRLSI who want to come to this cafe

For administrative reasons, it has not been possible to put on this particular Cafe as a BRLSI event so the Cafe is having to pay rent for the Elwin Room.  As a result, all tickets will be £4 this evening, with no concessions for members or students.  All ticket holders will be given a £2 discount on the book if they want to purchase it.

Wednesday October 20th at 7.30pm

Widely published poet Dr Rosie Bailey is coming to Bath as a guest of the BRLSI Poetry Group and will be speaking about her partner the poet UA Fanthorpe  who died last year.  This wonderful event has been arranged by the Poetry Group Convenor Janet Cunliffe-Jones and is open to all members of the Bath Poetry Cafe, of which Dr Rosie is the loved and treasured patron.

Wednesday November 17th at 7 for 7.30pm

POEMS FOR THE DARK TIME OF THE YEAR

Please contact Sue if you would like to take part in or help to organise this event.

ABOUT NEXT YEAR

Starting in January 201, Bath Poetry Cafes run in the usual way at the BRLSI by Sue will take place quarterly, in March, June, September and November of each year.  People are having lots of thoughts and making lots of good suggestions about what we should do in the intervening months.  If anyone would like to add their voice to the ongoing discussion, please e-mail sue on jimboyle@gotadsl.co.uk
