Dr Nitasha Kaul

Her first novel Residue is with the publishers. She has a joint PhD in Economics and Philosophy. Previously a University Lecturer, she has research experience and publications in a wide variety of areas ranging from economic theory to cultural studies. Her latest academic book titled Imagining Economics Otherwise: Encounters with Identity/Difference was published by Routledge in 2007. Originally from Kashmir, she has lived in the UK for over a decade, first in the North-East, then in the South-West, she has now moved to London and is a visiting research fellow at the Centre for the Study of Democracy at the University of Westminster. She's been spending a lot of time in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan recently, writing a book titled Snapshot of a Changing Kingdom: Democracy and Identity in Bhutan about the ongoing democratic transition there. She has travelled with a camera and notebook, mostly on her own, to over thirty countries across four continents.
