SCIENCE GROUP
From Stem Cells to Tissues - Developments in Regenerative
Medicine.
Prof. Melanie Welham & Dr. Paul de Bank
University of Bath
Friday
27 June 2008 at 7.30pm
Stem cell research is a sometimes controversial subject, but it holds the
potential to make science fiction - the growing of biological ‘spare parts’ -
science fact. For a report on how far things have actually progressed, come
along on Friday June 28th for "Stem cells to Tissues – developments in
regenerative medicine", by Prof Melanie Welham and Dr. Paul de Bank of the
University of Bath.
And on Friday July 25th there’s the first in the BRLSI’s new “Famous
Scientist” biographical series, as Prof. David Gooding from the University of
Bath describes the life and achievement of Michael Faraday (right), the 19th
century chemist and physicist whose work forms the foundation of our
understanding of electromagnetism. No prizes for guessing which great scientist
will be featured in this series in 2009!
